Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a specialized, trauma-focused approach that works with the body’s earliest responses to overwhelming experiences. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or memories, DBR works with nervous-system responses to support greater safety, regulation, and connection.
Works with the body’s physiological responses, particularly within the brainstem.
Designed to reduce overwhelm and support a sense of safety throughout the process.
DBR may be considered as part of trauma-focused work for experiences such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, developmental trauma, anxiety, and dissociation.
Can complement EMDR and other trauma-focused therapies when appropriate.
In-person sessions are available in downtown Edmonton, with virtual appointments available for clients in Alberta and Ontario where appropriate.
DBR sessions are approximately 50 minutes and move at a pace that respects your nervous system. Together, we focus on subtle bodily sensations and emotional responses connected to past experiences, allowing the body to process trauma without forcing or reliving overwhelming memories.
Schedule a confidential consultation at a time that works for you.
We discuss your goals, your history, and whether DBR is the right fit for you.
We begin by creating a sense of safety and stability before moving into deeper trauma work.
Start focused, trauma-informed work that supports lasting change.
